Frequently Asked Questions

When using natural light you want the last hour before sunset ideally with a blue sky. If the session involves a young child then the first hour after sunrise might be a better option.

The goal is for you to stand out, not your outfit, so think simple and classic over bold and busy. Keeping the whole group in the same general tone goes a long way, think all darks, all lights, or all neutrals rather than trying to match everyone exactly. Solids are the way to go for adults, but little ones can get away with a simple pattern here and there. When in doubt, choose something that feels like you and fits your surroundings — the focus should always be on the people, not the clothes.

Outdoor natural light sessions are typically about an hour, depending on location and the size of your group. Newborn sessions are a bit more relaxed and can run anywhere from one to two hours — we just follow baby's lead!

There is no penalty if we have to reschedule due to weather. If rescheduling results in a date later than your needs require, the session fee will remain a credit on your account or can be transferred to a friend or family member. The session fee is non refundable.

You can bring as many outfits as you want! However, since we are using natural light we can't start too much earlier to allot for clothing changes, so keep in mind that time spent changing is time spent not shooting. That said, depending on your goal, fewer images with more outfit variety might be exactly what you're looking for!
